What is Sunday School, and is it just for children?
Sunday School is a time for people of all ages to study the Bible. We provide lesson books, activities, and take home papers, and follow a rotating curriculum designed to teach the whole Bible in a way that can be easily understood. The adult class is done in an informal setting, complete with coffee and fellowship. Questions and discussion are encouraged.
What is your main worship service like?
We begin at 11am with a concentrated personal worship time consisting of congregational singing, scripture reading, and testimonies. Our music is mostly traditional hymns sung from the hymnbook backed by a piano and organ. The highlight of the service is the preaching of the Word followed by an invitation hymn.
Do you offer anything for children during the service?
Yes, we have a nursery available for infants and toddlers during services. The other children participate in the congretational singing during the first part of the service. Before the preaching children 5 and younger are dismissed to Kiddie Church, and children 6-11 are dismissed for Junior Church, where they hear a message geared toward their own age.
What should I wear to church?
At Evangelical Baptist Church you will find that people dress in various styles ranging from casual, to business casual, to suits or dresses. The way you dress is your personal choice before God. You will be welcomed no matter what outfit you choose to worship God in.
Does your church offer Adult Bible study?
Aside from our Adult Sunday School, we have Bible study on Sunday nights at 6:30 and Wednesday at 7:00. Both services are geared to a deeper and meatier look at the Bible. We also finish the evening by sharing prayer requests and then praying for each other. It is a great way to get that mid-week encouragement we all need.
